Cox the Ox, Boating, & Temple Trip

This week was jam packed with fun!  The tire on my jogger stroller got a flat and I didn’t have the glue to fix it one morning so we just headed out on foot to enjoy the mornings fresh air.  I put Bailey in the back pack and Lydia started out walking but ended up on my shoulders.  I was dying laughing as I passed the construction workers all pointing at me and saying, “WoW!  That’s impressive!”  My nickname from my younger years “Cox the Ox” kept ringing in my ears.  I guess some things never change.

Thursday, August 28th, my niece, Teagan Tiffany Cox was born.  She was 4 lbs. 13 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long.  She is healthy and well!  Tiffany is alive and doing much better.  She had her bladder reconstructed and was given a lot of blood.  We had a scare Saturday but I was informed today that she is doing much better.  I know that priesthood blessings are so powerful and am grateful that my brother is a worthy priesthood holder to bless his family!

After a very stressful day Thursday, waiting to hear if Tiffany made it, we decided to go boating and have fun as a family.  We had a TON OF FUN!  Ryan and I both really enjoy boating and find it very rejuvenating!  Ryan skied, I wakeboarded, we both knee boarded, and Lydia LOVED swimming.  She had to go to the bathroom and refused to go in the water so Ryan paddled her over to the beach to go.  She tells us, “I went potty on the sticks.”  I am just hoping she realizes that this is only ok with daddy.  Bailey enjoyed chowing down on crackers and grapes.

The temple trip on Saturday was awesome!  We left early in the morning and thanks to my friends who watched our kids we were able to enjoy a great time in the temple.  I felt the spirit so strong!  I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only church here on the earth today that’s led by Christ.  Knowing this has brought so much happiness into my life because Christ’s power on earth (priesthood power) is how we are sealed in the temple so death doesn’t separate us!  On a less serious note after the temple we had a blast at Bass Pro Shop and then Chili’s.

Labor Day we went bowling and I LOVED IT!  So funny that Lydia beat Ryan and I the last game.  And I won Ryan once and he won me once.  We all left feeling like winners.  Ryan and I will hopefully be on a bowling league with our own bowling balls and matching shirts when we get old.  We love the movie Remember Me!

Seriously a GREAT WEEK!
